Anna ‘Chickadee’ Cardwell: Honoring the Memory of Mama June’s Oldest Daughter

It is with a heavy heart that Mama June Shannon, a familiar face on reality TV, shares the heartbreaking news of her eldest daughter, Anna ‘Chickadee’ Cardwell. Anna, aged 29, fought bravely against stage four adrenal carcinoma but, sadly, lost the battle.

In a deeply emotional post on Mama June’s Instagram, she opened up about the pain, saying, “With a breaking heart, we are announcing that [Anna Cardwell] is no longer with us. She peacefully passed away in my home last night at 11:12 PM, surrounded by her family, after an incredibly brave 10-month fight. We’ll be sharing more updates today. Your love, prayers, and thoughts during this difficult time mean everything to our family.”

Anna, renowned as the sister of Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo’ Thompson, made her mark in the world of reality TV. From appearances in “Toddlers & Tiaras” to starring in the popular series “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” from 2012 to 2017, she left an indelible impact.

Alana Thompson, grappling with the loss of her sister, shared a heartfelt tribute on Instagram, saying, “I really don’t know what to say as my heart is completely broken. Watching my 29-year-old sister battle this horrible disease this last year hasn’t been easy.”

Anna’s courageous battle against cancer unfolded on social media, where she documented her journey through rounds of chemotherapy. On May 10, she shared an update, revealing, “It was a pretty good day, but did get a little tough, and Cracker Barrel was good going down but not up.”

Anna Cardwell leaves behind her mother, daughters Kaitlyn Elizabeth and Kylee Madison, and sisters Lauryn, Alana, and Jessica. Her strength, spirit, and the impact she had on those around her will be cherished and remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
