New Zealand’s player Finn Allen did an amazing job against Pakistani players. He did something really special during the third T20 International match on Wednesday in Dunedin. In a short time of 62 balls, he scored a high 137 runs. This makes him the top scorer for New Zealand in T20 Internationals, beating Brendon McCullum’s previous record of 123 runs. Finn Allen also tied the world record for hitting the most sixes in a T20 inning.

Before, Afghanistan’s Hazratullah Zazai held this record with 16 sixes. Finn Allen has now reached the same milestone. Hazratullah Zazai achieved this in February 2019 in a match against Ireland, where he scored 162 runs off 62 balls. Now, Finn Allen has scored 137 runs in a similar number of balls. He hit five fours and 16 sixes in his innings. Even though there’s a big difference in the quality of the teams (Ireland and Pakistan), people are really praising Finn Allen for his outstanding performance.

In T20 cricket, here are the players who hit the most sixes in one inning:

BATSMEN

RUNS BALLS FOURS SIXES TEAM OPPOSING TEAM
Hazratullah Zazai 162 62 11 16 Afghanistan Ireland
Finn Allen 137 62 5 16 New Zealand Pakistan
Jitesh Kukikhel 137 49 7 15 Hungary Austria
Aaron Finch 156 63 11 14 Australia England
HG Munsey 127 56 5 14 Scotland Netherlands

In this match, Finn Allen played really well against Haris Rauf. He scored 27 runs off Rauf’s over with three sixes and two fours. Because of his excellent performance, New Zealand set a big target of 225 runs for Pakistan. New Zealand won the match by 45 runs, securing a series victory with a 3-0 lead in the five-match T20 series.

After Devon Conway got out quickly for seven runs, Finn Allen partnered with Tim Seifert and made an impressive 125-run partnership for the second wicket. While Finn Allen aggressively kept scoring, Seifert supported him well. Umpires changed the ball three times during Allen’s innings, showing how powerfully he was hitting the deliveries.

Finn Allen’s fantastic inning ended in the 18th over when he got bowled by a yorker from Shaheen Afridi. Even though he got out, he received praise from the field for his impressive performance.
